Tahiti, The Society & Tuamotu Islands. Join us for a 10-night roundtrip sailing from Tahiti, exploring the enchanting Society and Tuamotu islands. Discover the unique beauty of Bora Bora, Taha’a, Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea, Rangiroa, Tikehau, and Makatea aboard our small ship. These islands are sculpted by towering, moss-green peaks and fringed with vivid turquoise lagoons. Island hopping offers the chance to experience every landscape, from the geometric ridges adorned with waterfalls on the high islands to the flat, desert-like atolls where lagoons vastly outsize the landmass.
Board the Panorama II at Papeete Port at 3:00 pm. After a welcome briefing and safety drill, we will set sail for Mo'orea. Enjoy dinner on board as we make our way to Mo'orea, arriving late in the afternoon.
Overnight on board.
Mo'orea, with its dramatic mountain peaks rising from a serene lagoon, is thought to have inspired the mythical Bali Hai from James Michener’s Tales of the South Pacific. Start your day with a morning snorkelling and ray tour, followed by an afternoon nature and culture tour. Discover the island’s history, explore ancient sites, and sample local fruity flavors at a juice factory. In the late afternoon, we’ll sail to Makatea.
Unlike many of French Polynesia’s atolls, Makatea is a raised coral island known for its stunning landscapes and rare bird species, including the Makatea fruit dove, imperial pigeon, and reed warbler. Our half-day tour will explore the island’s beaches, rock pools, and an underwater grotto with impressive stalagmites and stalactites. We’ll depart in the late afternoon for Rangiroa, spending the night at sea.
Please note: Visits to Tuamotu islands are weather-dependent.
Arrive in Rangiroa, the largest atoll in the Tuamotu archipelago, known for its excellent diving opportunities. Join our optional full-day tour to the Blue Lagoon, a prime spot for swimming, snorkelling, and observing marine life. Enjoy a traditional Polynesian picnic before returning to the ship. Overnight at anchor.
Please note: Visits to Tuamotu islands are weather-dependent.
After an early morning sail, arrive at Tikehau, also known as the Pink Sand Island. Picture a paradise with turquoise lagoons, white-sand beaches, and vibrant flowers, all complemented by pink sand. Relax on the colorful sands or explore the abundant marine life, which Jacques Cousteau once claimed had the highest concentration of fish in French Polynesia. Join our optional tour to Tuherahera and a family-owned fish farm to learn about their successful aquaculture practices.
In the afternoon, we’ll sail to Huahine.
Huahine, historically significant as the home of Tahitian royalty, is a lush island dotted with ancient marae (temples) dating back to 700 AD. Join our optional tour to visit temples and small villages, feed the sacred blue-eyed eels of Faie Bay, and explore a vanilla plantation. Vanilla enthusiasts can purchase beans here at great prices.
Sail overnight to Bora Bora.
Arrive early in the Bora Bora lagoon, where the stunning scenery will feel like a dream. Enjoy ample opportunities for swimming and snorkelling, or choose from various optional tours such as snorkelling with stingrays and sharks or exploring in the open-air bus known as ‘Le Truck’. Alternatively, let us help you tailor your own adventure.
Overnight in port (docked or at anchor).
Depart in the morning for Taha’a, a botanical haven known for its banana, watermelon, and coconut groves. Sample local fruit, visit a pearl farm, and explore a traditional vanilla plantation. In the afternoon, sail to Raiatea.
Raiatea, meaning ‘faraway heaven’ and ‘sky with soft light,’ offers intriguing exploration. Choose an optional excursion to Uturoa, the cultural and administrative center, and visit Mount Temehani and the ancient Marae of Taputapuatea, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Alternatively, opt for a kayaking tour along the Faaroa River. In the afternoon, we’ll set sail back to Papeete.
Arrive back at Papeete, Tahiti, this morning. Join us for a final breakfast on board at 9:00 am before disembarking.
